Most people need about 7-11 hours of sleep every night (and up to 16 hours for babies). We need sleep so that our bodies have energy to function the next day.
Just like people, animals need sleep. The larger the animal, the less sleep it typically needs.
Walruses are one of those special animals that can stay up for more than 3 days straight! They can go for up to 84 hours without snoozing at all.
So, what do they do with all of that time? They are usually seen swimming around the ocean looking for a bite to eat. Afterall, they weigh more than 2,000 pounds, have a huge stomach and an enormous appetite!
